Since 2002, we have been offering a bespoke, no-cost recruitment service to hundreds of employers, many of whom come back to us time and again to fulfil their recruitment needs. The company is now the largest provider of workforce solutions in Cheshire, with a significant footprint in central Manchester. Originally founded as Cheshire Training Associates, the company rebranded in 2015 as Armstrong Works to reflect its activities beyond the Cheshire area.

For over a decade we have been helping people from a wide range of backgrounds to develop and prepare their skills for work and to find employment.

Armstrong Works has developed an excellent track record of delivering sustained employment, with unparalleled Work Programme performance across Cheshire and Greater Manchester, for Prime Contractors G4S and Seetec. Outstanding performance is achieved through impeccable centre resources and experienced, well motivated staff, allied to an effective performance management ethos across the business.

In addition to the two Work Programme contracts, we also deliver the ESF Family Support Programme and the Steps 2 Success programme.

The Family Support Programme provides clients with support and practical help with various issues such as, finding work, housing issues, money management, physical health management and more.  Clients have a dedicated Key Worker who will assess individual need and co-ordinate a flexible package of support.

In England, operations are run from six resource centres across Cheshire, covering all population centres and rural areas; Warrington, Northwich, Macclesfield, Crewe and Ellesmere Port. In May 2014, a flag-ship office was opened in central Manchester on Fountain Street. Each centre provides a large Information Technology suite for supported job search, two well-equipped training rooms and adviser areas.

In Northern Ireland, centres in Bangor and Newtownards, serve County Down and the Ards Peninsula.

All delivery is enhanced by Head Office support, based in central Manchester. This includes, finance, human resources, quality and compliance, in-work support and claims functionality.
